[19:49] <Stephanie> i wished they had a smaller one, but it goes from 6.5″ to 12″… i was hoping for like an 8.5 because it would be perfect, but no
I’ll leave you to draw your own conclusions from that.
Taking Bets

I’m thinking about taking bets on the likelihood of my site being back up any time this century today. I tried a live chat at 5pm (when I’d finished work):
[name removed]. [9:59:21 AM]: Hello! Welcome to the Site5 Technical Support Live Chat! How may I help you?
Jem [9:59:21 AM]: I was told in a Live Chat on Saturday that my ticket – [ticket #] – would be answered today. I estimate that you’re about 5 hours behind me (GMT) which puts you at nearly 12pm – why has the ticket not been answered? My site has been down for
[name removed]. [9:59:30 AM]: Hello Jem
Jem [10:00:33 AM]: That should say ‘my site has been down for 4 days now’
[10:00:37 AM]: Hello [name removed][name removed]. [10:00:59 AM]: Please hold on, I am checking your ticket.
Jem [10:31:36 AM]: I’ve read the ticket back to myself twice, been for a pee and made a coffee – what’s taking so long?
And at 6pm, an hour after the live chat was opened, it timed out. I have never, in all my years of using site5, had such a piss poor response to a problem. Most tickets are solved within minutes, maybe a few hours when it’s early here (thus middle of the night for them). To have to wait this long for a reply, and have to put up with this length of downtime… it’s just ludicrous.
As if all of that wasn’t bad enough, Jordan tells me that Google have pushed a PR update over the weekend and dropped me down by 1 again; I am now PR4. Fucking fantastic.

As if 30 different geek/gamer t-shirts wasn’t enough — and as if you didn’t already think I’m a little obsessed — I bought a new one (t-shirt) last week. “Life is Wasted on the End User“.
Bought from the same guys that sent me the I blog therefore I am t-shirt, although unfortunately I can’t link you to the picture of Hex cozying down on it BECAUSE MY SITE IS STILL DOWN! :(
How Stupid

on:Because WordPress.com requires you to approve a change of email address in your profile, any comment emails etc are going to my normal address… which obviously I cannot read at the moment.
I’m not sure what’s more annoying, the fact that I am without web space, email etc, or the fact that I depend on it so much.
You Know, It’s Funny

on:More often than not I have problems thinking of things to write for more than a few days at a time, and yet the second I am deprived of an avenue through which to convey my thoughts, I am struck with a million and one things to write about.
For those looking for an update on jemjabella.co.uk/tutorialtastic/etc – fear not, my sites will return and I shall post full info in due course. Let’s just say that site5 have had a few choice words off me, and they will be crediting me in full for this month as per their uptime guarantee (whether they like it or not). I actually feel remarkably calm about the whole thing, because I know that this is the first time in over 3 years I’ve had any sort of “big problem”. Of course, that’s not to say I’ll be sticking around if it continues this way.
So I’m not dead, and I am contactable (jemjabella86@googlemail.com) if you desperately need me, although please bear in mind I’m “crippled” without my proper mail, FTP, etc.
